We are all adrift Why can’t you see? In currents flowing swiftly what a shame you never heard of me Leaving us transfixed Music the sweetest Will you lose yourself in this? Just to see their faces We’ll never walk away You can believe we found a better way You can love us or leave us You can love us or leave us Do you believe what you say? What a chore it must be to be you Well, the words are empty anyway You’ve got a lot more living to do Just trying to be real Influencing must be hard Are you as blessed as you claim to be living in your house of cards? We’ll never walk away You can believe we found a better way You can love us or leave us You can love us or leave us Don’t leave us You can love us or leave us

I want to stay here I feel fine, we’ll find our way out Well, I’d have to say that I’ve been better I want to stay here I feel fine It appears we’re in for stormy weather After the fall, the full sunshine Good or bad we’re in it now Take a chance and we’ll find out Oh, I’d be braver standing on the edge of the tallest skyscraper I don’t want to meet my maker yet Oh, I’ll keep on chasing this… I’ll keep on In a faded night where we stood center Stage was set by the light of the moon Sending us this life through veins that splinter Still my breath It ends too soon. Good or bad we’re in it now Take a chance and we’ll find out Oh, I’d be braver standing on the edge of the tallest skyscraper I’m not gonna’ meet my maker yet Oh I’ll keep on chasing this… I’ll keep on.. I want to stay here I feel fine, we’ll find our way back

Awake 02:59
Awake, when will you realize? Are you awake? It’s time you recognize See the faces, the dismay sets The casualties in this fight All the horrors you’ve afforded us We have to get this right Another fake parade You can’t get away There’s just no appetite for these mindless games Awake, he bides his time What could you say? He exploited the weakest minds See their faces, their dismay sets Never a compromise Well, there’s no point in pushing you when you can’t tell a truth from a lie Another fake parade You can’t get away There’s just no appetite for your mindless games Turning the page, I’m turning the page Another fake parade, you can’t get away There’s just no appetite for your mindless games Turning the page, I’m turning the page

It’s well after midnight Our winter’s come and gone again In the middle of nowhere Climb the fence and let’s get in The full moon has joined us Spying on our every whim The sound of the water Dripping from your skin Who can stop us now you say? Catch me, catch me if you can We’re driving faster You see trouble beyond the bend Impending disaster Not knowing how we end Feeling invincible, feeling like a lucky girl You call me crazy With a cheeky grin I call your bluff Who can stop us now you say? Catch me, catch me if you can Who can stop us now you say? You might as well jump in We have come a long, long way Catch me, catch me if you can

Above the lake we look down On a winter day that covers this town It fills our lungs until they burn Life plays out through a changing lens Happy or sad we’ll make amends In the end we’re not the same All the bad you’ve forgiven If you could forget it would you feel better? If you could forget it would you feel better? Precious things they come and go Shadows dance in light on a bed of snow Passing through replaced by the cold All the bad you’ve forgiven If you could forget it would you feel better? If you could forget it would you feel better? Above the lake we look down On a winter day that covers this town It fills our lungs until they burn All the bad you’ve forgiven If you could forget it would you feel better? If you could forget it would you feel better?

about

This five-song EP has an’80s/‘90s-inspired sound with it’s melodic guitar and synth hooks, thoughtful rhythm sections with sampled loops, and lush layered vocal melodies. The title track gives itself away with tongue in cheek lyrics around the current social experiment we call influencing. The band takes an introspective turn with their next song, “I Want To Stay Here,” written after lead singer/ keyboard player, Terri Dittmar, received a breast cancer diagnosis in the spring of 2021. This poignant song is bookended with humbling, heartfelt call and response lyrics: ”Well, I’d have to say I’ve been better,” followed by a vocoder/synth response, “I want to stay here I feel fine”. In the chorus, “I’d be braver standing on the edge of the tallest skyscraper. I don’t want to meet my maker yet...I’ll keep chasing this, I’ll keep on”, and March and Beauty has done just that. The band never looks back on this EP, leaning in with upbeat, synth pop tracks, Awake and “Catch Me If You Can”. The EP ends with “Precious Things,” a graceful track providing just enough optimism to make you want to listen again.

about

March and Beauty Austin, Texas

Husband and wife duo Tim and Terri Dittmar have created music in multiple bands which found a comfortable home and airplay on college radio during the previous 2 decades. But only after combining forces with guitarist Justin Bocanegra and multi-instrumentalist Paul Stautinger did March and Beauty root up through the soil to become something greater than the garden-variety indie rock super group. ... more
